The historic Rainbow Ballroom in downtown Fresno is now up for sale, according to ABC30.
As the owners of the iconic venue prepare to retire, the property is going for just under $4 million.
The venue located on Broadway Street in the Mural District has been under the same ownership for the past 32 years.
The ballroom has recently been remodeled and has an existing liquor license.
Thousands of events have been held at the Rainbow Ballroom from rock concerts to popular bailes.
Throughout the decades the ballroom has hosted icons such as Count Basie, Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, and metal band Megadeath on their stage.
More recently, the venue has hosted big artists like Tyler, The Creator, Brockhampton, and A$AP Ferg.
In a 2010 issue of American Road Magazine, the Rainbow Ballroom was featured as a "Highway 99 gem."
The owners hope that another venue operator will purchase the building so it can continue its legacy.
This is the second historic venue to be put up for sale in Fresno this year.
Earlier in January, it was announced that Tower Theatre was in the process of being sold to a church.
While disappointing for local culture, the news doesn't come as a surprise as independent venues across America struggle to survive the coronavirus pandemic.
