Dinosaurs are coming to Roseville this week in a new outdoor attraction next to the All American Speedway.

Life-size dinosaurs began popping up as workers set up the eight-day-long Jurassic Empire event which opens Thursday, January 14.

"Yes, we now have dinosaurs in Roseville," said Dave Attaway with Placer Valley Tourism. "We are excited and happy to provide some form of safe entertainment to our community."

The attraction is a drive-thru event, so friends and family can see up dinosaurs that move and "breathe" from the safety of their cars.

Jurassic Empire is "the largest most realistic dinosaur drive-thru event ever seen in California," according to operators. The event includes over 60 realistic dinosaurs.

The number of vehicles allowed per day is cut off at 350, as part of safety protocols.

Roseville's Jurassic Empire is also taking place on the same property as the Placer County Health vaccination site.

"We're really trying to do what we can to help the community through this time both through entertainment and health resources," said Attaway. "that is why have dinosaurs in one area and a vaccination site in another."

Tickets for Jurassic Empire are already sold out for Friday and Saturday of this week.

The event will be open Thursday and Friday this week and next from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
