Everyone knows that when picking a place to live, location is one of the most important factors to consider.
The same goes for choosing a place to retire.
Retirement Living found the best 10 cities for retirement based on affordability, quality of life, and health care.
According to the list of retirement-friendly areas, one city in Arizona made the list.
Mesa came in at number 10 on the list.
The site states, "Year-round retirees, as well as snowbirds, favor Arizona. The Mesa metropolitan area offers a high percentage of retirees and parkland, senior living care with average fees and low living costs. Mesa’s crime rate declined in recent years, and the area is safer than before. You should have no problems finding adequate health care, but if extreme heat bothers you, consider retiring elsewhere."
It is no surprise that the top two spots on the list are locations in Florida that have a close proximity to a beach and never-ending warm weather.
According to Retirement Living, here are the best 10 cities for retirement:
- Miami, Florida
- Jacksonville, Florida
- El Paso, Texas
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Tulsa, Oklahoma
- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
- Louisville, Kentucky
- New Orleans, Louisiana
- San Antonio, Texas
- Mesa, Arizona
