Eateries with entertainment venues are not a new idea, but a restaurant moving to Grand Prairie will combine chicken and pickleball.
Kansas City-based Chicken N Pickle is breaking ground on its first DFW location on Friday. It'll be at Epic Central and is expected to open in late 2021.
The restaurant menu features chicken dishes, sandwiches and burgers, and salads. It'll also have a large beer and cocktail menu.
The location will be huge, too. Spread across 77,000 square feet, Chicken N Pickle will have six outdoor pickleball courts, five inside pickleball courts, a space for outdoor yard games, a dining room, and a rooftop bar with a stage for live performances.
If you've never played pickleball, it's like ping-pong played on tennis court. Players have more room to move, but they use paddles instead of tennis rackets. The venue will host clinics for new players, according to Dallas CultureMap.
Chicken N Pickle joins a growing list of chicken joints moving to the DFW area. S&J's Hot Chick and Hattie B's previously said they'll open Dallas locations in 2021.
