Looks like we'll be getting more new music from Justin Timberlake!
The “Holy Grail” musician revealed he’s been going hard in the lab in recording his next studio album. Timberlake shared as much during a recent virtual appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, letting fans know that he has another music era in progress as we speak.
"Can we say? Is there a possibility that there's going to be a new Justin Timberlake album in the works?" asked host Jimmy Fallon, to which the Grammy-winning recording artist responded, “Yeah, we can say that. There is a possibility.”
The “Mirrors” crooner then confirmed, "Let's go with yes — I've been in and out of the studio working on stuff."
Although JT mentioned that he did play “a few tunes” from his upcoming record, he didn’t provide any details on when fans would be able to hear his new material. “I just take my time,” Timberlake noted.
The pop star released his fifth studio album, Man of the Woods, in February 2018. The LP, which fused elements of Americana and JT’s signature soul sound, debuted atop the Billboard 200.
Since then, Timberlake, who recently confirmed the birth of his second son with wife Jessica Biel, performed a new song, titled “Better Days,” to celebrate Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration last week. The record, originally released with singer-songwriter Ant Clemons in December 2020, is the first track from JT’s new project.
As far as JT6 is concerned, Timberlake seemingly teased a potential collaboration with Timbaland and Justin Bieber on social media back in September 2020, with additional rumored features from Justine Skye and Ty Dolla $ign.
