We can’t stop listening to Miley Cyrus’ impressive rendition of Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You.”

The singer recently performed an at-home concert for Tiny Desk and she opened her three-song set by taking on the alternative rock duo’s classic 1993 record inside of a messy, miniature room. With her signature rasp and panging vocals, Cyrus made the song entirely her own with an utterly cathartic performance.

“You live your life, you go in shadows/ You'll come apart and you'll go black/ Some kind of night into your darkness/ Colors your eyes with what's not there,” Cyrus coos before dialing up the volume with her high-pitched screams in the chorus: “Fade into you/ Strange you never knew/ Fade into you/ I think it's strange you never knew.”

Telling by the comments, fans were completely obsessed with Cyrus’ version of the ‘90s ballad.

“She sounds like she's just singing right in the golden age of classic rock,” one YouTube commenter wrote.

Another commenter gushed, “I want to listen to her voice. I don’t care what she wears, who she marries, what she drives, what she eats, where she vacations...I just want to [her] sing. I just want to hear her take a song and make it hers.”

Later on during the 11-minute Tiny Desk concert, the 28-year-old performed “Prisoner” and “Golden G-String,” two tracks from her number-one rock album Plastic Hearts.

Cyrus released her latest full-length in November 2020, which was carried by the success of the album’s catchy, rock-infused leader, “Midnight Sky.” In its first week of release, Plastic Hearts debuted atop Billboard’s Rock Albums chart, selling 60,000 units.
