It's a girl!
On Wednesday (February 3), Jenny Slate revealed has given birth to her first child, a baby girl, with fiancé Ben Shattuck. The 38-year-old actress first revealed she was expecting during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers back in December. Slate did not share her daughter's exact birthday.
The Parks and Rec actress confirmed the happy news while chatting with Entertainment Tonight. "Yeah, I'm not pregnant anymore," Slate joked. "The baby came out!"
Slate then told the outlet she and Shattuck named their baby girl Ida Lupine—Ida because they "loved the name," while Lupine was inspired by their favorite flowers. She described little Ida as "a sweet, happy baby," and a "good sleeper."
"Being a mother is such a joy. It's so cliché but I love it," Slate gushed, adding that she's fallen even more in love with Shattuck since they've become parents. "He was so sweet and supportive toward me. We are already very, very close, but I guess you can get closer and closer when your love is healthy and good."
"That's something that I'm grateful for every day," Slate concluded. "That and our sweet gal!"
Congratulations to the happy family!
