Candace Cameron Bure had some thoughts for critics who think it's "easy" to make Hallmark movies.
During a recent interview with Paula Faris, Bure talked about her extensive Hallmark Channel resume. The 44-year-old actress has starred in 26 movies for Hallmark to date—yes, including multiple Christmas movies. While chatting with Faris, the host asked Bure if people question whether the films are actually challenging for her as an actress. “I mean, really, how hard is it? Don’t you get that all the time?” Faris inquired.
Bure defended the films Hallmark puts out and challenged anybody who thinks otherwise to try their hand at acting in one themselves. “Can we just talk about this for a second?” Bure began. “I get that all the time. ‘How hard is it to be in a Hallmark movie?’ Like, ‘Can I be in a Hallmark movie?’ And I’m like, ‘Are you a professional actor?’ ‘No.’ ‘Then no, you cannot.’”
“You can be a background person, they’re called extras. If you don’t have a speaking part, that’s easy," she continued. "I can make that happen. If you have a speaking part, then we’re gonna have to make sure you can do the job.”
Bure is no stranger to calling out her critics, especially when they troll her social media accounts. The Fuller House actress recently explained why she decides to talk about these things publicly, especially when trolls come for her children. '"Listen, on social media, everyone gets criticized. And if you are a celebrity, it just comes with the territory and I can handle it," Bure told Access in a separate interview. "But the second someone starts to criticize my children, or say negative things like [that], mama bear comes out."
"I just had to remind people that there are real people with real feelings behind the screen and I'm not posting for your negativity," she concluded. It seems she has the same outlook for those who would criticize her dedication to the Hallmark Channel, as well.
