Whenever people aren't quite feeling ice cream, frozen yogurt is usually the yummy alternative. There's not much difference usually besides flavor and the type of dairy used, meaning there's as many ways to customize and flavor the cold treat!

In the Miami area, where it's warm most of the year, a chilly dessert can really hit the spot. While there's plenty of ice cream and frozen yogurt joints, the ones we picked out stand out in their own ways. With that said, here are five places to check out in Miami if you're craving some frozen yogurt.

Top That Yogurt

Sometimes we just need a few simple scoops. Top That Yogurt has a bit more than your standard selections, though. You can also sample some fun flavors like dulce de leche and cake batter! You can also get your yogurt normal or tart.

Sugar Daddy

With some of the zaniest and colorful creations you'll probably see in Florida, Sugar Daddy may leave you coming back for more. If the extra toppings intimidate you, you can opt for a more simple scoop or shake instead!

Yuzu Miami

There's a vast array of flavors to dabble with at Yuzu. You have your traditional options like vanilla and chocolate, and then you have taro, spechuloos, Nutella and more! While you're there, you may want to grab a smoothie or a crepe, too.

Menchie's

Menchie's is a sweet option if you're watching your calories. Four out of its five flavors is gluten free, and their vanilla snow yogurt is nonfat. Did we mention they sell fro-yo cakes, as well?

Chill-N Nitrogen

This restaurant may have you coming back just from the sheer amount of options. You pick your base, which can be original yogurt or tart yogurt, then you select one of 12 flavors. Among those flavors include biscotti, coffee, salted caramel, vanilla, chocolate and more. Finally, you choose your toppings from a wide range of options, such as gummy bears, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, brownies, honey and other pickings.
