Bishop Briggs (born Sarah Grace McLaughlin) is going through the unimaginable. Last month, the singer-songwriter lost her sister Kate McLaughlin, who had been battling ovarian cancer. She was only 30 years old.

In the wake of her untimely death, Briggs permanently honored her sister with a new tattoo. She's also read books on grieving, gone to therapy, and written new music. Over the weekend she shared a long message to fans, thanking them for their "endless messages of kindness" and revealing that she's thinking about posting more personal content on YouTube and a new song next week.

"Just want to come on here and thank you all for the endless messages of kindness. I feel the warmth during this very cold time in my life," Briggs wrote. "I’ve been thinking about a positive way to channel my energy. It’s hard to think positively when I feel this weight of emptiness. This week I’ve read a lot of books about how to cope, looked at beautiful things, went for a long drive, went to therapy, sat in ache feeling as if I was being held down by bricks and I wrote."

"In transparency I have felt hugely supported by all of you so I’m thinking I might do that a bit more," she continued. "Maybe post more personal things on my YouTube (if you’d like) and perhaps in little ways like in this caption. I’m also thinking of releasing a song I did with @mrjacobbanks next week. Releasing music is very therapeutic and having something to get out of bed these days is a welcomed gift. On top of that, he has been a lovely human to me during these months and months of sorrow. First time writing a caption like this. It is fun. A bit scary. But, I love you."
