Tiffany Haddish Selects Atlanta Comedian Barbara Carlyle For Netflix Show

Local Netflix viewers can support a fellow Georgian who was hand-selected to appear on a thriving comedian's show.

Atlanta comedian Barbara Carlyle is one of several performers to be featured on the second season of Tiffany Haddish’s Netflix series.

Haddish created They Ready on Netflix, selecting “six diverse comedians (to) showcase their raw humor in a series of specials oozing with energy,” according to Netflix.

The Emmy-nominated show (in the “Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series” category) includes an episode featuring “Georgia's own Barbara Carlyle,” as she “laces her set with slick talk and dirty jokes...” even poking fun at the streaming service itself.

Carlyle has also performed on Comic View and Def Comedy Jam on BET, according to 11 Alive.

Other comedians to watch on season 2 of They Ready are Godfrey, Erin Jackson, Tony Woods, Kimberly Clark and Dean Edwards.

The season caps with The After Show, where all of the performers “bond over stigmas, sacrifices and stand-up in this emotional and vulnerable roundtable chat hosted by Tiffany Haddish.”

Fans can also catch Haddish’s stand-up in specials of her own. Tiffany Haddish: Black Mitzvah and Tiffany Haddish: She Ready! From the Hood To Hollywood! are streaming on Netflix.
