Law enforcement officials are warning that there could be a puppy-napper at large in Northern Ohio.
Local residents called investigators from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday (February 14), reporting several puppies missing.
The puppies were only a few days old.
The Northwest Ohio homeowners had a female German shepherd, who gave birth to a litter of 10 puppies a few days before the alleged puppy-napping. The owners advertised on Facebook that the puppies were for sale, and after a few potential buyers visited the house, they found nine of the 10 puppies missing, WTOL reported Wednesday (February 17).
The mother dog appeared anxious over her missing puppies, according to the Fulton County Sheriff's Office report.
She stayed close her last puppy and appeared to be pacing, apparently in search of the nine others that went missing, the incident report shows. The report also states that the homeowners plan to keep an eye out on social media for for any unregistered German shepherd puppy listings, according to WTOL.
All together, the nine missing puppies are estimated to be valued at more than $7,800.
