Elitch Gardens in Denver announced its plans to reopen in the spring of 2021.
The theme and water park is set to open on May 1, 2021, according to the Elitch Gardens website.
"Thrills coming soon! We miss you. We miss the laughs, the screams, the smell of funnel cakes, and most of all your smiling faces," reads their website. "We can't wait to welcome you back!"
According to the park's statement, they have been working with the City of Denver to create a COVID-19 suppression plan in order to operate safely in 2021.
The safety and well-being of our Guests and Team Members is our top priority here at Elitch Gardens. We are planning to open the park on May 1, 2021," said the statement. "In preparation for Opening Day, we have developed significantly increased sanitation protocols and standards as well as communications and procedures for managing appropriate social distancing so that when our Guests and Team Members return, they can do so safely."
For guests who purchased a 2020 Season Pass, the park has automatically transferred their pass to the new 2021 VIP Season Pass.
In addition, those who purchased a single-day admission ticket last year will now be able to use their ticket this season.
