Leaving a trail of clues, Cedar Point is alluding to a new addition to the amusement park.

The new ride appears to be slated for next year.

That’s according to a bright red sign that told readers that there would be a new coaster.

Hints started to emerge at Cedar Point’s Winter Chill Out fundraising event over the weekend, WKYC reported Tuesday morning (February 23). Guests at the event couldn’t help but notice the barricaded area tagged with a bright red sign with “TOP SECRET” written across the top.

Below, the sign reads “NEW ROLLER COASTER 2022 AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY.”

Photos of the “TOP SECRET” sign hinting at the new roller coaster began circulating on social media over the weekend, including from Cedar Point Nation, a fan page promoting the park (it’s not affiliated with Cedar Fair, the company that owns Cedar Point).

WKYC reported that the fan page also shared an image that appears to show a rough track layout, surrounded by the Mine Ride, the Maverick, Chick-Fil-A and other attractions.

The notes also highlight T-Rex — which WKYC notes is a type of coaster — along with a measurement of 526 feet and a footer install date estimated at March 1 of this year.

A Cedar Point spokesperson, however, did not confirm or deny that a new roller coaster is in the works.
