Drake fans buckle up — Champagne Papi is gearing up to release new music as soon as this week!

On Monday (March 1), youtuber, music insider, and Drake stan, DJ Akademiks, revealed that he recently spoke to the Canadian rapper, who gave him an update on his highly-anticipated album Certified Lover Boy.

"Drake told me to sit tight n relax," Akademiks wrote on Twitter. "he said that 'Whats Next' record [a song that leaked over the weekend] is just a 'warm up ting'. He's working overtime creating this next masterpiece... CLB on da way... fr." The youtuber added, "He also told me he shooting some videos.. prollly drop something this week. The Goat is back. Aubrey Champagne Papi Drake Graham.Thats yall Drake update.. the source is - The Boy."

Hours later, Akademiks additionally shared footage of Drake allegedly shooting a music video for a song off the upcoming LP. (Check out the footage HERE!)

As fans know, CLB was originally slated to drop in January. However, before its expected release, Drake announced that he pushed the project back as he was still recovering from his knee surgery in 2020.

“I was planning to release my album this month, but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery," he wrote on social media. “I’m blessed to be back on my feet, feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January.”

Last week, Akademiks hinted that that CLB was dropping in Spring or sometime before. “CLB update. I’ve seen some people say, ‘oh, it was supposed to drop tonight’, as in Thursday night. No. No, it’s not dropping then. Drake told me that it’s going to be dropping before April so he’s not waiting until summer to drop his sh*t," he said during a livestream. "I don’t wanna say before April… April or before."

Akademiks added, “But the reason why I’m saying it’s not dropping tonight, as in Thursday night, is because he’s spent so much time on this project that he’s not trying to put out a surprise project. He’s gonna let people know at least a week before, bro.”
