Meghan Markle and Prince Harry unveiled a lot during a two-hour interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired Sunday (March 7).

Amid the revelations, the couple credited Tyler Perry for his help when they fled the U.K.

The CBS interview marks the first time Markle and Prince Harry have sat down for a detailed interview since separating themselves from the Royal Family, 11 Alive noted in a story published Monday morning (March 8).

The Atlanta-based station detailed how Perry strived to help the couple and their son, Archie.

Markle explained to Winfrey that when her family moved to America, Perry offered them his Georgia home and full security detail. Security was reportedly taken from the family — including the infant child — which forced them to leave Canada, despite safety concerns (which continue, according to the interview).

The spotlight on Perry wasn’t lost on Twitter users, including those who applauded him and called the news the “BIGGEST plot twist” of the year.

Perry’s help to the family was just one of many details divulged in the lengthy interview.

Some key takeaways from the interview include concerns from the Royal Family about “how dark (Archie’s) skin might be,” Markle’s suicidal thoughts, and Prince Harry’s strained relationship with family members.
