Dining In The Dark? New Sensory Experience Coming To San Diego In May

A new mysterious dining experiencing is coming to San Diego.

Tickets to Dining in the Dark by Fever Originals will get you a blindfold and a surprise menu. The 90-minute meal and experience take place at a secret location in "a restaurant in the centre of San Diego blanketed in darkness."

The concept for this unique dining experience is based on studies that suggest 80% of people "eat with their eyes." Leaving people with only their sense of taste and smell, psychologists say, makes for the ultimate taste experience.

"Guests will enter a darkened room, only lit by the flicker of candlelight before placing their velvet blindfold over their head," reads the event's FAQ page. "A true foodie experience that promises to enhance your senses by eliminating one of them - your eyesight!"

Guests will be served a surprise menu based on the color they choose. Green is for vegan, blue is for seafood, and red is for meat. The menus can also be accommodated for allergies and dietary requirements.

The event takes place on Wednesdays starting in May through the end of June.
