Three Phoenix-area Disney Stores will be closing by the end of the month, reported ABC 15.
According to Disney's ShopDisney.com, the locations at Chandler Fashion Center, Scottsdale Fashion Square, and Arrowhead Towne Center are all scheduled to close on or before March 23rd.
The Disney Store located at SanTan Village in Gilbert closed last year.
Due to the three locations closing, only one Disney Store will remain in the Phoenix area. The remaining store is at Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe. The store located at the Tucson Premium Outlets will also stay open.
A news release form Disney last week stated that the company is closing 60 of its brick-and-mortar stores in North America to focus more on online sales.
Stephanie Young, president of Consumer Products Games and Publishing at Disney said in a statement, "While consumer behavior has shifted toward online shopping, the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer."
She explained that the company is working to meet customers where they are spending their time.
Soon there will only be one physical Disney Store in the Phoenix metro.

She said:
"Over the past few years, we've been focused on meeting consumers where they are already spending their time, such as the expansion of Disney store shop-in-shops around the world. We now plan to create a more flexible, interconnected e-commerce experience that gives consumers easy access to unique, high-quality products across all our franchises."
