Baseball season is around the corner, and Truist Park will open at 33% capacity as Georgians power through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The home opener is slated for April 9, when the Atlanta Braves take on the Philadelphia Phillies. The game will mark the first time fans have been able to return to Truist Park since October 2019, according to a press release from the Atlanta Braves.
The Braves aim to re-evaluate capacity restrictions with each home game, the release states.
"After a long and difficult year, we are excited to welcome Braves fans back to Truist Park beginning on April 9th." said Derek Schiller, President and CEO of the Braves. "Baseball has had a healing affect over the course of our history, and we look forward to be a place where our fans can come, have fun and enjoy cheering on their favorite team in a welcoming environment."
A-List members and single-game ticket buyers who previously bought April tickets will get first dibs. After that, the general public will be able to purchase tickets online on March 30, beginning at 10 a.m. There will be health and safety measures in place because of the pandemic, including socially-distanced seating, masks, contactless ticketing and more, according to the Atlanta Braves.
