Following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, a public debate has broken out about what life as a member of the Royal Family is really like. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have received an outpouring of support after revealing the extent of their suffering within the Palace, they have also dealt with their fair share of detractors—former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan being one of them.
Morgan's stance on the Sussexes' interview—that he doesn't believe anything Meghan said throughout the two-hour conversation with Winfrey—has been reiterated by his fans, as well as loyal supporters of the monarchy. According to Oprah's bestie and fellow CBS personality Gayle King, however, Meghan has evidence to back up her claims of racism and neglect within the Palace. “Meghan has plenty of receipts, meaning she’s been keeping track of things,” King said.
King isn't the first person to publicly state that Meghan has receipts, either. The Duchess's close friend, Janina Gavankar, made it clear Meghan can back up her claims during an appearance on the UK's This Morning. "After reading this short statement that came out from Buckingham Palace today, I felt two things,” Gavankar said. “One side, I thought: I am so thankful that they are finally acknowledging the experience. But on the other side, I am well aware that the family and the staff were well aware of the extent of it, and though their recollections may vary, ours don’t, because we lived through it with them."
“There are many emails and texts to support that,” she added. “I have known her for 17 years and I have seen the way she regards the people around her and the people she works with, and I can say she is not a bully. I can also say that I am personally glad people are doing their due diligence because I also know why someone had to leave, and it was for gross misconduct."
“The truth will come out, there are plenty of emails and texts about that," Gavankar reitirated.
