"American Idol" XIV Grand Finale - Show

A Park City singer got great news from the judges when he auditioned for the hit tv show American Idol.

Wyatt Pike really wanted the judges to get to know him and to see his personal side, reported Deseret News. So, he played a song that he wrote for his little sister, Hazel, after she dealt with some pretty serious mental health issues.

The song was called "Best For You."

The singer said in the clip that aired right before his audition:

"Towards my end of high school, I started struggling with some anxiety. It was some stuff that my sister had dealt with i the past. Walking into the audition with this song is important to me because I want to show who I am. It's a story of mine and something that I feel, and I want to make them feel it."

The singer impressed the judges.

Judge Lionel Richie said that Pike reminded him of "a Park City James Taylor."

Luke Bryan said, "I think you're totally cool, totally unique, totally in your own world, in your own lane, playing your guitar in your style, in your movements...I'm excited you're here."

Pike is the fourth singer from Utah to make it on American Idol this season.
