Texas police detained an Oregon woman for a second time in a week for not wearing a mask inside a business.
Terry Lynn Wright, of Grants Pass, Oregon, went viral last week after Galveston police handcuffed her at a bank after arguing with an officer about wearing a mask. On Wednesday, she was arrested at a Office Depot in Texas City.
An employee at the Office Depot called police because Wright refused to put on a mask or leave the store, The Galveston County Daily News reported.
Texas City Police officers recognized Wright from recent news coverage and arrested her on resisting arrest charges and trespassing relating to the Galveston bank incident.
Wright was not formally arrested in Galveston last week. She was detained by Galveston Police, and taken to the hospital and discharged before she was charged or booked.
Texas City Police spokesperson Cpl. Allen Bjerke said Wright will not face additional charges for trespassing at the Office Depot.
"At this time, we don't feel it's necessary to file additional charges. There were no further incidents out there at the scene," told the Galveston newspaper.
Wright previously tried to argue with a Galveston cop that she couldn't be arrested because there is no longer a mask mandate in Texas. While the state can't require people to wear masks, businesses have the right to ask customers to mask up while on their property or leave.
Wright is now being held at the Galveston County jail on a $2,500 bond.
