We all know 13 Going on 30 just wouldn't have been the same without Mark Ruffalo. According to the film's leading lady Jennifer Garner, a Ruffalo-less version of the movie almost came to be. Apparently, he almost dropped out of the beloved rom-com for the most hilarious reason.
While virtually chatting with theSkimm, Garner was asked what her favorite memory from shooting 13 Going on 30 was. Unsurprisingly, her answer was the memorable scene that shows Garner's character, Jenna Rink, convincing a whole party, including Ruffalo's Matty Flamhaff, to do the choreography of Michael Jackson's 'Thriller.' Though the scene may have been Garner's favorite, Ruffalo wouldn't agree with her.
"Our first rehearsal, I think it was Mark and Judy [Greer] and me, and Judy and I were both dancers growing up and poor Mark didn't know that," Garner recalled. "And he came in and he hated the rehearsal process so much he almost dropped out."
Luckily, Ruffalo managed to make it through the rehearsals and stayed on board for the film. Ruffalo and Garner became close friends while filming, as well. The pair recently reunited for an upcoming film called The Adam Project.
Earlier this month, Garner raved about reuniting with her 13 Going on 30 love interest. "It was wonderful," she said. "We were playing a married couple and we just had this instant comfort and obviously there's just such a connection and a warmth. It was actually a really beautiful experience to revisit that relationship."
