The wife of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Ava Arpaio, has died, reported AZ Family.

Ava fought cancer for two years before passing away.

The former sheriff told AZ Family that his wife p-assed on Saturday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. at the age of 89. She was surrounded by her family.

According to Arpaio, Ava passed away at the hospital, where she had already been for several weeks.

Many individuals reached out to Joe to offer condolences, including high-profile politicians such as Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and former President Donald Trump. Joe mentioned to AZ Family that Trump had actually reached out to him on multiple occasions over the last couple of weeks to check up on the condition of his wife.

Governor Ducey wrote on Twitter, "Very saddened to hear of the loss of Ava Arpaio, Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s wife of more than 60 years. Our prayers and our hearts are with Sheriff Joe and his entire family during this time."

Ava leaves behind her husband, two children, and many grandchildren.

Joe and Ava had been married for 63 years and shared a home in Fountain Hills.

Ava was known by the world as being a source of support for her husband all along his journey in politics.
