Rising country star Taylor Dee died on March 14 due to a car crash, per CBS DFW. She was 33.

According to the report, the singer, born Taylor Dawn Caroll, was driving an SUV eastbound on the State Highway 183 toll around 10:30 PM. It is believed that Dee attempted to exit to Highway 360 when she missed the turn, slammed into a barrier, hit an overhead sign and was ejected from the vehicle. According to authorities, she was not wearing a seat belt and in "grave condition" when authorities arrived to the scene. She was transported to a nearby hospital and died at 10:52 PM. A second person in the vehicle had minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

"Taylor Dee was the real deal -- a true talent with a heart and passion not only for her music but for people," Linda Wilson, president of the Texas Country Music Association, said in a statement. "In every performance, her talent was evident, but more importantly she allowed her fans to know her heart. She will be missed tremendously."

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is currently performing a toxicology screen to determine if alcohol played a part in the accident, which is currently under investigation. Dee, who dropped her first single, "The Buzz," in June 2019, is survived by a young son and daughter.
