Movie buffs in Warren will be able to head back to the theater next month.

Regal Cinemas said it will reopen the Regal Warren Theater on Friday, April 2. It's one of 21 Regal theaters the chain is reopening, with the majority of them being in California and New York.

"So if you look at the list of all the Regals that are opening, we're a very small market compared to these larger markets speaks to the volume of people that attend that theater on a daily basis," Deidre Ebrey, the director of public affairs and economic development for the City of Moore, told News 9.

Ebrey expects the theater reopening to benefit nearby businesses.

"More than anything a buzz. It creates energy for that area which spills into the other businesses that are in that area," she said.

Regal closed all of its locations nationwide in October due to the pandemic. It plans to reopen its various theaters throughout the month of April, and locations will have to follow local COVID-19 regulations.

Moviegoers will have to wear a mask at the theater, expect when eating, according to the Regal website.

Other Oklahoma City area theaters are already in business, including AMC locations, Cinemark, and Harkins.
