Denver had one final attempt to make it the snowiest March on record.
A final snowstorm rolled in on Tuesday night (March 30) bringing in a total of 34 inches for the month of March.
Thundersnow brought in .4 inches of snow, according to the Denver International Airport (DIA). DIA is the official recording station for Denver snow, according to FOX31.
Thundersnow is a thunderstorm that occurs when it's warm enough for a storm but cold enough for the storm to produce snow instead of rain, according to CBS4.
While the weather event is quite rare throughout the rest of the country, Colorado does see regular thundersnow in the early spring and late fall.
A video of Tuesday night's thundersnow was caught at DIA between 10:15 P.M. and 10:45 P.M.

Although it didn't make it to the number 1 spot, March 2021 did make it to the top five, going down as the second snowiest March in recorded history, reports FOX31.
Denver usually averages 11.3 inches of snow in March. This year, there were 34 inches of snow in March.
A majority of the total came from the snowstorm on March 13 and 14 which brought 27 inches of snow to Denver. It was the 4th largest snowstorm in Denver in recorded history.
