Broncos Increase Season Ticket Package cost with 9th Game Added

The Denver Broncos are adjusting their pricing for the 2021 season ticket packages to reflect the added game to the regular season schedule as a result of last week's vote by NFL owners to include a 17th game going forward. That increase is 6% per season ticket package, or about an average of $5-6 per ticket per game. Also, the Broncos are introducing "Broncos Plus" which offers season ticket holders a 20% discount on all food and beverage purchases. As a team spokesperson indicated, season ticket holders are essentially paying for the added value they're receiving.
This marks just the 2nd time in the last 5 years that the team has increased its pricing structure. Despite being in the midst of one of the worst 5-year stretches in franchise history, the season ticket retention rate remains just under 99%.
The increase in price is nominal considering the benefits that accompany it. With the league reducing the number of pre-season games, fans are no longer paying for games many consider "meaning-less" or certainly less exciting than games that count. The 9th regular season game will alternate between the AFC and NFC every year.
Per the team, I learned the Broncos have never increased parking in the 21-year history of Empower Field at Mile High. Also the Broncos rank 17th in average season-ticket pricing, despite being a top-3 team on the secondary ticket market. And, Denver's 50-plus year sellout streak is the longest in all of professional sports in the United States.
As it stands, the waitlist for Broncos season-tickets is 90,000!
