The state of Colorado has begun offering free at-home rapid COVID-19 testing for any individuals who work in a public-facing job, reports CBS4.
The state will distribute 2 million free rapid tests by BinaxNOW directly to the homes of those who are eligible.
The Binax At-Home program is an attempt to slow the spread of coronavirus and prevent a fourth wave.
Governor Jared Polis announced the website to sign up for the free tests was launched on Friday, April 9, and will offer a month's worth of tests.
The tests are available to any person who has a job that involves interaction with the public. Some eligible examples are retail workers, events industry employees, delivery and truck drivers, hospitality staff, real estate agents, utility workers, and electricians.
“You can get tested, free, quick and easy from the privacy of your own home. Results in 15 or 20 minutes. You don’t have to wait days or even hours to get results. You can reorder them after 20 days for the following month,” said Polis. “It’s a nasal swab. It’s incredibly easy to use.”
Public-facing employees can apply for the tests using the Individual Enrollment Form and you can find more information about eligibility here.
