While animals can be cute, it's important to be cautious and treat them with respect.

The Centers for Disease Control completed a study of the deadliest animals by state.

According to the study, the animal most likely to kill Californians is the rattlesnake.

This is what The Outdoor Wear had to say about rattlesnakes:

"In California, approximately two hundred and twenty individuals are bitten annually by venomous snakes, but the statistics reveal that less than one percent of the bites inflicted are fatal, mainly due to there being antivenom available. The Mojave, Western Diamondback, and Sidewinder are some of the most common rattlesnakes in California. Regrettably, everyone that needs the antivenom does not receive it in time."

Rattlesnakes were also named the 7th most dangerous animal found in California.

Here is the full list of the top 10 most dangerous animals:

  1. Humans
  2. Dogs
  3. Deer
  4. Horses and Cows
  5. Hornets, Wasps, and Bees
  6. Black Widow and Recluse Spiders
  7. Rattlesnakes
  8. Mountain Lions
  9. Black Bears
  10. Sharks

According to Land.com, the Eastern diamondback rattlesnake is the largest of North American venomous snakes. It's considered to be the most deadly and has the largest fans of any rattlesnake species in the world.
