Ohio is home to some of the best colleges in big cities.
Stacker ranked the Top 50 big-city colleges nationwide, and findings show that students hitting the books in the Buckeye State have a few solid options.
Of course, there are pros and cons to going to college in a big city. It may be more expensive, but it could also help connect students with professional contacts, among other benefits, Stacker pointed out (not to mention the fun things, like “restaurants, bars, brew pubs, art museums, and musical performances”).
Here’s how the data journalism hub compiled the rankings:
“Stacker decided to take a look at the best colleges in big cities using 2021 Niche rankings. Colleges in cities with populations of more than 300,000 were considered, drawing population data as of 2019 from the Census Bureau. Niche ranks schools based on a variety of factors including academics, admissions, financial value, and student life. Niche’s methodology can be found here.”
So, which big-city colleges are the best in Ohio?
Here are the colleges, and how they rank:
- No. 46: University of Cincinnati, in Cincinnati
- No. 26: The Ohio State University, in Columbus
- No. 19: Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland
