Forbes declared Dolly Parton one of the richest self-made women in America.
The magazine published its 2021 list earlier this month, introducing 15 newcomers to the list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women. Parton is a new addition to the list, along with other women who have built their fortunes in solar energy, online education and other fields, Forbes states.
The country legend's net worth rings in at an estimated $350 million, which is up-to-date as of July 2.
Here’s what Forbes said about Parton:
“In a year when most of the music industry slowed down, the country singer and co-owner of amusement park Dollywood was busier than ever: She wrote a song inspired by her experience during the pandemic, released her first holiday album in 30 years and starred in a Netflix film, Christmas on the Square. Arguably her most important contribution: a $1 million donation that helped fund Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine research.”
When she got her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Parton reworked the lyrics to one of her most iconic songs, swapping out “Jolene” for “vaccine.”
The “9 To 5” singer is the only new musician to the list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women. See the rest of the list here.
