The City of Sacramento is closing down a stretch of road in Oak Park, which has long been called dangerous.
According to CBS13, neighborhood residents have been criticized the intersection for being unsafe.
The intersection under scrutiny is at Second Avenue between Broadway and 34th Street.
Residents say crashes frequently occur in the intersection because it's weirdly shaped. The intersection creates a small triangle in the street.
The city has finally decided to permanently close off vehicular traffic to the triangle. CBS13 reports that bollards will be placed to block off the road.
Although the intersection is closed to cars, it will be left open to bikes and pedestrians.
According to CBS13, work to close off the street started on Monday, August 9.
