An investigation is underway after thieves crashed a truck into a Northwest Washington pawn shop this week, and the aftermath "looked like something out of a movie," as one employee described.

The wild incident reportedly happened on Aurora Avenue and 164th Street SW in Lynnwood, according to KOMO. Workers are calling it a smash-and-grab break-in, which left a gaping hole in the store among other extensive damages.

"Someone driving into a building, and a bunch of people jumping out, running in doing the smash and grab and then leaving," Marty Coyle, an employee, said. "They knew what they were doing because there are reinforced bars in there so they had to come in at high speed."

But out of all the items inside the store, reporters said only a small amount of firearms are missing -- and store owners are worried.

Creighton Kolbeck, the pawnshop owner, told reporters the theft is an "emotional hit." He's concerned that six to 12 guns may fall into the wrong hands and hurt someone.

"Now we have illegal guns out there," Robert Smiley told KOMO. He works for a nonprofit in a space donated by the pawn shop. "It is a shame, the biggest shame this man has such a big heart for people in the community, he’s done so much, to have this happen it’s sad, it hurts."

The pawn shop will be shut down as it gets repaired. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
