This Dua Lipa x Elton John collab is like nothing you've heard before.
On Friday (August 13), Lipa and John dropped their highly anticipated track 'Cold Heart (PNAU Remix).' Fans of John's iconic catalog will recognize the lyrics instantly—the mashup pulls from both 'Rocketman' and 'Sacrifice.' While this may seem like a chaotic choice, Pnau—AKA Peter Mayes, Nick Littlemore, and Sam Littlemore—pull it together seamlessly.
Not only did they drop the track, but they also shared the accompanying video. Like the song itself, the 'Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)' showcases these artists in a surprisingly new way. Throughout the video, Lipa and John appear as cartoon versions of themselves rocking out in various fantastical landscapes.
Fans weren't the only ones excited for the song to drop, either. Lipa and John both took to Instagram to celebrate the track's release, as well as gush over their friendship.
"Elton you are my friend and my hero and I never thought I’d be able to ever say that in a sentence," Lipa wrote. "Thank you for all your love and support. Grateful to make music with you in this life."
"Dua, I adore you, and it has been an incredible experience making this together," Elton wrote in his own post.
This isn't the first time John has teamed up with Pnau. Back in 2012, the Australian natives released remixes of John's classic songs for their album Good Morning to the Night. The project hit number on the U.K. charts.
Lipa will be performing at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas this September. Fans can tune in to watch the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Festival via an exclusive livestream on The CW App and CWTV.com.
