Chicago is packed with festivals, restaurants, parks and other tourism draws, and some of its attractions are among the popular in the country.
That’s according to Newsweek, which ranked the 25 Most Visited Tourist Spots in America and shared its findings this month. The publication used figures from the past 10 years before the COVID-19 pandemic, “when tourism was at normal rates.”
On its Top 25 list, two of the most popular tourist destinations are in the Windy City. They welcome approximately 20 million visitors and 9 million visitors each year, respectively.
So which ones are visited the most?
No. 8: Lincoln Park
Here’s what Newsweek said about it:
“Chicago's most famous public land was originally known as Lake Park until 1865, when John Wilkes Booth assassinated the President. Beside Lake Michigan, Lincoln Park is located in one of the most affluent areas of Chicago.”
No 21: Navy Pier
Here’s what Newsweek said about it:
“The 3,300 foot Navy Pier has a lot to offer anyone lucky enough to pop by for a visit. There's plenty of entertainment, restaurants, and of course, a huge ferris wheel that offers an areal view of the whole area, which looks beautiful when lit up at night.”
