If you weren't aware already, the Salt Lake City Disney Store is set to close in the coming weeks, reported ABC 4. But don't worry, the magic isn't going anywhere! One major retailer in the area plans to offer up a little Disney magic just in time for the holiday season.
Disney announced that it would be closing about 60 of its North American locations before the end of 2021. A statement said "the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer."
Unfortunately, the City Creek location was one of those stores set to close. Disney's website specifies that this specific location is set to close on or before September 15th.
No worries, though. Target is gearing up to add more Disney Store merchandise at locations across the country, including in Salt Lake City. Target announced on Monday that the new Disney shop-in-shops will launch in time for the holidays.
According to Target, it will have to over 160 of the Disney store in Target locations by the end of the year. It isn't currently clear exactly which Target locations will gain the new Disney gear. Currently, two Utah locations have a Disney shop-in-shop stores: South Jordan and American Fork.
