Hollywood may be the capital of the commercial movie industry, but many filmmakers have come to Denver to shoot their motion pictures.
The following films were filmed in Denver:
Sleeper (1973)
This iconic film featuring Diane Keaton features the Sculptured House on Genesee Mountain, Denver Botanic Gardens, and the Table Mesa Laboratory of the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder.
Die Hard 2 (1990)
The second installment of the classic Bruce Willis film series has a scene at Denver's old Stapleton Airport.
About Schmidt (2002)
Jack Nicholson and Kathy Bates received Oscar nomination for their roles in this comedy-drama about a recently retired man making his way to his estranged daughter's wedding. While most of the movie was filmed in Nebraska, some scenes were filmed in Denver.
Blades of Glory (2007)
The Will Ferrel classic filmed its stadium scene at Denver's very own Ball Arena, previously known as Pepsi Center.
Identity Thief (2013)
Melissa McCarthy's hilarious turn as a Floridian con artist sees her character, Diana, deal with the consequences of stealing the identity of Denver resident Sandy Patterson (Jason Bateman). The scenes featuring Sandy's house were actually filmed in the city.
