Kanye West is setting fire to the past.
On Thursday (August 2), the rapper released the accompanying visuals for 'Come to Life' off his latest album Donda. The video features footage from his third and final listening event, which was held at Soldier Field in West's hometown of Chicago.
In the 'Come to Life' visual, fans who weren't able to attend the much-discussed listening events finally got a chance to see what all the fuss was about. As West sits in a replica of his childhood home, he lights himself, and then the house, on fire.
The video also features one of the most talked-about moments from the listening event—Kim Kardashian's appearance in a wedding dress. After the house has been set ablaze, the footage cuts to Kardashian as she makes her way to her ex-husband. Just as they meet each other, the video fades to black.
At the time, Kardashian's involvement in the event led to speculation the pair had reconciled, however, insiders close to Kardashian and West told TMZ the pair are not back together. Despite their split, they still consider each other "forever family" and will continue to support each other. Kardashian was reportedly "happy" to be a part of Donda.
West's tenth studio album pays tribute to the rapper's late mother, Donda West, who passed away at just 58-years-old following plastic surgery complications in 2007. West also reflects on his marriage and subsequent divorce from Kardashian across multiple tracks, as well, including 'Off the Grid' and 'Hurricane.'
Stalone wasn't the only artist featured on the album, either. The project includes features from JAY-Z, the Weeknd, Jay Electronica, Young Thug, Pop Smoke, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Kid Cudi, and more. Other artists, such as controversial figures Chris Brown and Marilyn Manson, are also credited as lyricists on Donda.
Donda is out now.
