Mark Hoppus Is Officially Done With Chemotherapy

Mark Hoppus is officially done with chemotherapy! And who better to announce the good news than his ex-blink-182 bandmate Tom DeLonge.

Tom shared a screenshot of a text conversation between him and Mark on Instagram. “I wanted to be a good friend to @markhoppus and just give some modest advice on what he should do next, now that his Chemo treatments have subsided and it looks like they may have worked wonderfully."

Of course the advice was something utterly ridiculous (and hilarious), which you can read in the text thread.

“No more treatments right?” Tom asked, to which Mark replied: “No more planned.”

“Doctor said I can take my port out,” Mark added. “I think because he thinks the chemo did the trick and I’m done but also if the chemo didn’t work we do a different treatment entirely?”

“Wow … That’s great news … Time for LIVING,” Tom replied before dropping his nugget of wisdom: “u need to f**k as many things as possible. Shoes, gopher holes, golfers. Anything u can catch.”

It's good to see that even though they may not play music together anymore, they've still got the sense of humor that made everyone fall in love with blink in the first place.

Mark has been fighting stage four diffuse large B-cell lymphoma since April and publicly revealed his diagnosis in June. Since then, he's taken fans on his journey from bad chemo days to cancer gardens to playing bass for the first time since his diagnosis to getting the good news that chemo was working.

“Scans indicate that the chemo is working! I still have months of treatment ahead, but it’s the best possible news," he revealed in July. "I’m so grateful and confused and also sick from last week’s chemo. But the poison the doctors pump into me and the kind thoughts and wishes of people around me are destroying this cancer.”
