Former New England Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan is getting another shot at the NFL.

Hogan, who was released by the New Orleans Saints during the team's final round of roster cuts last week, has re-signed with the franchise prior to Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports.

"The #Saints are re-signing WR Chris Hogan today, source says. Impressed them this summer. Was always the plan to bring him back as part of the roster reshuffle following the cut to 53," Garafolo tweeted.

The 33-year-old veteran spent the 2020 season with the New York Jets, but was limited to just 14 receptions for 118 yards during five appearances, as well as eight catches during seven games for the Carolina Panthers in 2019.

Hogan's greatest NFL success came during his three-year stint with the Patriots from 2016-18, which included winning two Super Bowls in three total appearances, as well as recording 17 receptions for 332 yards and two touchdowns in three postseason games during New England's Super Bowl LI run in 2016.

Hogan also set the Patriots' franchise record for most receiving yards in a playoff game (180) during the AFC Championship Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Hogan had previously spent four seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 2012-15 before joining the Patriots after stints on the San Francisco 49ers' offseason roster and New York Giants' practice squad in 2011.
