Safety is a top priority to people living in Georgia.

That’s according to SafeWise, a hub for crime and safety information, which ranked Georgia’s 20 Safest Cities of 2021 earlier this year. The report states that “Georgia is the second most-concerned state in the nation when it comes to package theft and police violence.” SafeWise reads:

“The level of concern in Georgia has risen almost 10% in the last year. But violent crime in The Peach State remains below the national and regional average. And property crime has dropped steadily since 2019.”
“…Georgians worry about their safety a lot (and even more in 2021 than in 2020). Of those who responded to our survey, we saw an increase in personal experience with violent crime and gun violence. But 13% fewer Georgians we talked to experienced property crime.”

Data showed that Georgia’s violent crime rate reached 3.4 per 1,000 people and its property crime rate was 23.8 incidents per 1000 people.
