It’s not every day people find a group of goats on the loose in one of the wealthiest areas of Atlanta.
It happened on Monday (September 27). News helicopters captured the herd of goats outside of a Rooms To Go Furniture Store near the Peachtree and Piedmont intersection, and the social media account ATL Scoop shared video of the “goat party in Buckhead.” Bystanders captured the unusual sight, captioning their footage “Just another day in Buckhead.. No big deal,” and adding two laughing emojis as the farm animals trotted down the sidewalk. Artists, actors and public figures — Crash Rarri, Blue Kimble and Yohon Trotter, to name a few — couldn’t resist commenting on the wild Instagram post. The Atlanta Falcons also shared the video on social media, saying that they “spotted @YounghoeKoo in Buckhead this morning.”
Atlanta police explained to WSB-TV that the goats somehow got loose after being brought to the area to eat weeds at a nearby. Kroger. Animal control was contacted to help wrangle the goats. No goat (or human) was harmed, according to police.
The animals were from Get Your Goats, a business that rents out goats to eat vegetation rather than using heavy machinery or chemicals, Fox 5 reports. About 40 goats were on site Monday afternoon.
