Fall is finally here and so are all the fun autumn activities that come with it. From pumpkin patches and hayrides to haunted houses and corn mazes, there's plenty of ways to keep busy during the season.

A tradition that many people have is carving pumpkins ahead of Halloween. While some carve silly or scary faces, others pick a more intricate design. One such person is pumpkin artists Liza Slaughter Barker of Hendersonville. Her skills even brought her to the Food Network, News Channel 5 reports, where she will compete on the fall-themed Outrageous Pumpkins, premiering this weekend.

"It was really difficult, not gonna lie it was very hard," she said. "But I left there with a lot of memories and some really good friends."

On Outrageous Pumpkins, contestants compete for the $25,000 prize by facing off to "create truly haunting designs you'll have to see to believe," according to the show's website. Hosted by Alyson Hannigan, judges Terri Hardin and Marc Evan will decide who comes out on top and wins the grand prize.

Tune in to see Barker compete on the newest season of Outrageous Pumpkins, which premieres Sunday, October 3, at 9 p.m. CT. Episodes can be found on Food Network and Discovery+.
