Trisha Yearwood is a talented artist and cook, so naturally, the country icon sings in the kitchen.
This time, she had a little help.
Yearwood shared her rendition of her 1992 song “Walkaway Joe,” with a little help from fellow country songbird Lauren Alaina, whom Yearwood lovingly calls “Junior.” Yearwood posted the video of her duet with Alaina on the set of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen:
“That boy's just a Walkaway Joe / Born to be a leaver / Tell you from the word ‘go’ / Destined to deceive her / He's the wrong kind of paradise / She's gonna know it in a matter of time / That boy's just a Walkaway Joe”
“Did you hear that?!” Alaina exclaimed. “That made my whole life — also get her cookbook!”
Yearwood just debuted her latest cookbook on Tuesday (September 28). Trisha’s Kitchen: Easy Comfort Food for Friends and Family, offers “125 comfort food recipes and family favorites that are simple to prepare and will bring loved ones together, plus fun family stories and photos, from country music star, Food Network star, and #1 best-selling author Trisha Yearwood.” Of course, the latest book release didn’t go without support from Yearwood’s husband and fellow country star Garth Brooks, who called his wife “The Queen” as he congratulated her. Readers can get their hands on a copy here.
Alaina is getting ready to debut a book of her own. Getting Good At Being You is slated to release on November 2, fittingly, with a foreword written by Yearwood. Watch the two of them sing “Walkaway Joe” here:
