Louisville is celebrating the start of spooky season by bringing back the Jack O' Lantern Spectacular at Iroquois Park.
Dozens of artists have carved more than 5,000 pumpkins to match this year's theme - "Changing the Chanel: A timeline of television history." The trail will be divided into decades, starting with the Golden Age of TV and ending with pumpkins highlighting modern shows from Netflix and other streaming services.
The pumpkins artists will be hard at work throughout the whole spectacular because the pumpkins need to be replaced every seven to 10 days.
"We are doing so many different TV shows and scenes and references so honestly, you can walk the trail one time, come ten days later and you'll see almost a whole different trail," carver Alene Day told WRDB.
Unlike last year's drive-thru event, guests will be able to walk through the park and enjoy the carvings at their own pace.
"This event is a completely immersive experience in the beautiful woods of Iroquois Park and you're still tied to reality when you're in your car," CEO and President of the Park Alliance of Louisville Brooke Pardue told WLKY. "To be back on the walking path, it just does your heart good."
