A couple of mountain lions were caught on camera acting a little out of the ordinary.
According to CBS4, the mountain lions were seen roaming around a yard in Jefferson County. But instead of acting like the predators they are, they seemed to be acting more like common house cats.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife tweeted out the footage of the big cats. Officers say mountain lions are calm, quiet, and elusive in general. However, with more people moving into mountain lion habitats in Colorado, the animals often get curious and check out their new neighbors as they hunt for prey.

In order to reduce interactions with mountain lions, wild officers suggest following simple actions like making a lot of noise if you are coming and going at times mountain lions are most active from dusk to dawn.
They also suggest installing outdoor lighting and making sure the lights hit areas where you would likely walk.
And of course, make sure children are closely supervised while outdoors and that they remain inside after dusk and before dawn.
