Whitney Houston Musical Coming To Broadway

More than 10 years after her tragic death, Whitney Houston is set to take center stage on Broadway.

Producers are looking at a 2023 premiere for the bio-musical I Wanna Dance With Somebody, an adaptation of the movie of the same name. The film, which stars Naomi Ackie as Whitney, is set to open on December 23rd.

Though Whitney's longtime mentor Clive Davis is producing the movie, a spokesperson for the singer's estate tells Variety, "[Clive] is not currently involved with the Broadway show, but he is always welcome to participate in anything we do involving Whitney and her music. He has been a critical partner in the movie project."
