Lynyrd Skynyrd To Resume 'Big Wheels' Tour In April With U.S. Dates

Lynyrd Skynyrd will resume its 'Big Wheels Keep on Turnin'' tour this spring, with a 14-date slate of U.S. shows beginning next month.
The southern rock revolutionaries hope to get back onstage at full strength after the band's lineup was dogged last summer by COVID and Gary Rossington's heart issues.
Although Skynyrd will be back on the road, the band appears keen to take on a less rigorous schedule this time around, leaving weeks or days between shows.
After the band's return show in April, it will have four weeks before its next pair of shows in mid-May. Skynyrd is then booked for the first two weekends in June, then for a string of five shows in nine days in early-July. After that, the band has just one date announced in August and one in September.
While Skynyrd originally planned to retire at the conclusion of the 'Last of the Street Survivors' tour in 2020, the COVID pandemic-related shutdowns prompted the members to reconsider.
Skynyrd launched the 'Big Wheels' tour last spring with the understanding that the band had the power to "lift people's spirits and lives and bring back some joy and happiness after so much turmoil" due to the pandemic.
