After dropping several tracks last year, Bobby Shmurda is back with his first song of 2022. The New York native has come through with a fresh solo banger that will definitely get plenty of parties started this summer.
On Friday, April 29, Bobby Shmurda delivered his new track "They Don't Know" via his original imprint GS9 Records. Along with the upbeat record, the "Shmoney" rapper also delivered the official music video. In the video directed by Ishell Vaughan, we can see Shmurda doing his classic Shmoney Dance along with some other moves with a crew of dancers including the viral sensation Big Groove.
“My spirit’s always gon’ be up, I used to sleep next to people who had 40 to life,” Shmurda told Complex about the song. “People who’ve been in there for 30 years and haven’t laughed—I’d have them crying all day. When you got good energy, no matter where you at, you can bring a smile to someone’s face.”
Fans will instantly feel the hyperactive energy beaming from the brief video. Shmurda, who's been out on parole for over a year, flashes his pearly whites and shiny jewelry every chance he gets while he puffs his cigar. In between all the dancing among his crew, we can also see the rapper get apprehended by a couple of twerking lady cops.
"They Don't Know" is Shmurda's first independent record since parting ways with Epic Records last month. Prior to that, he released songs like "Shmoney" featuring Quavo and Rowdy Rebel, "Splash" and "Cartier Lens." Those tracks followed the rapper's freestyle "No Time For Sleep," which was the first song he dropped following his release from prison. Watch the full video below.
